How the Target Pokémon lottery works
Since November 2, 2026, Target can sell a high-demand Pokémon TCG product through a drawing instead of a first-come drop. Target calls it a "product launch drawing". Below is every rule from Target's help article 000229295 and the drawing panel itself.
Target and the other stores open drawings without notice. Email me when one opens: $2.99

Why Target moved to drawings
Hot Pokémon releases at Target go live overnight and sell out within minutes; Target's November 6 release of Delta Reign and the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collections started around 12 a.m. PT. Target's help page says drawings let guests buy "without having to compete to complete checkout as soon as inventory becomes available." Walmart had already been running Pokémon drawings since August 31, 2026.
1. Entering
- Sign in to a Target account and press Enter the drawing on an eligible product page. On drawing products this button replaces Add to cart.
- Entry is free. You pay only if you are picked and choose to buy.
- One entry per guest, unless the product page says otherwise.
- The panel shows the deadline, for example "Enter by 10am CT on Nov 4". You can't enter once the drawing has started.
- After entering, the panel reads "You're in! Watch your email starting [date]".
2. How winners are picked
When entries close, Target may review them and remove any that break the rules. It then picks guests at random from the rest. An entry made in the first minute has the same chance as one made in the last.
3. If you are picked
- Target emails the address on your Target account with instructions.
- You have 24 hours to complete the purchase from that email. After that, the chance can pass to another guest.
- Purchase limits and Target's order review still apply, and being picked does not guarantee the order is fulfilled.
- Drawing orders ship only: no Order Pickup, no Same Day Delivery.
- The item is a final sale and can't be returned or exchanged.
Unlike Walmart and Dick's, Target does not charge you automatically. If you're picked for something you no longer want, let the 24 hours pass.
One thing the panel doesn't mention: you buy the drawing item on its own. A winner's 5-star review on the product page, posted November 6, praised the system but added that "it needs to allow you to add enough for free shipping". A $14.99 blister by itself sits under Target's free-shipping minimum, so expect a shipping charge unless your Target membership or card covers it.
What entrants said
Reviews on the Destined Rivals blister page changed tone once the drawing began. Before, buyers wrote that it "took forever to actually get one because of all the bots". During the drawing week: "W for the lottery system" (November 3) and "love the drawing system" (November 6).
4. If you are not picked
You don't need to enter again. If Target gets more stock of that product, it may run another round, and an entry that is still active is considered again. To drop out, press Leave drawing on the product page; you'd have to re-enter if the option comes back.
What gets an entry thrown out
- Entering with more than one Target account.
- Bots, scripts, AI agents or any automated tool.
- Any other attempt to get around the drawing's limits.
Target says it may disqualify current and future entries, cancel orders or close accounts over these.

Two days later Target released Delta Reign and the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collections as ordinary first-come listings, so not every big release goes to a drawing. The board shows the moment Target sets another product as a drawing.
Lottery, raffle or drawing?
Collectors call it the Target Pokémon lottery, raffle or lotto; Target calls it a drawing. There's no ticket to buy either way. Entry is free, and what you win is the right to pay the regular price.
